Family & Faith
are what’s important.
Family extends to more than just relatives and friends. And since our society has reached a cultural tipping point where self-interests supercede the greater societal good, our family affirms its fierce commitment to community outreach. While our interests extend to various religious and secular causes, we take tremendous pride in our organization, The Recursion Program, a non-profit focused on tackling and eradicating the persistent causes of poverty. The Family Standard partners with a variety of organizations:
Recursion Program: In the world of mathematics and computer science, some problems are too difficult to solve all at once because of their enormity or their complexity. Recursion is an elegant method of solving large, complicated problems by breaking them down into smaller and smaller subproblems until a small enough problem is presented that it can be solved simply over, and over again.
Trying to solve the problem of persistent poverty is a large, daunting undertaking; perhaps one that is too large and complex to fix all at once. But, at the Recursion Program we believe breaking down and tackling the underlying causes of persistent poverty yields duplicable results worth having.

Youth Leadership Forum: Youth Leadership Forum (YLF) of Birmingham is a community-wide leadership program for high school sophomores and juniors designed to expose young leaders to the various elements that interact to form a strong and dynamic metropolitan area.
YLF was founded by several members of Leadership Birmingham’s first class who felt that a similar program for high school students would benefit the youth in this area and the community as a whole.
